David started his professional career in Local Government before moving into the Private sector. His work experience includes the design of large scale projects with Consultant Engineers such as F. J. Samuely and Partners and Pell Frischmann and Partners.
His workload has included such projects as the refurbishment/new build at Alexandra Palace, a £93M University complex in Bashra, an Open Prison for the P.S.A in Lancaster as well as general office and commercial projects.
In 1987 he established his own Practice, McCartney Rose, with a business partner. David worked on a wide range of commercial and residential projects, both new build and refurbishment. Commercial Clients include the Formula 1 Group, Lehmans Brothers, BT, Nike, KPMG, Warner Music, TNT (Now CEVA) and Thompson Travel together with numerous private clients.
In July 2007 McCartney Rose was dissolved with David continuing to provide a full spectrum of professional services as Rose Associates, an ISO 9001 quality assured company.
As a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club David also acts as a Party Wall Surveyor.
He has also been commissioned as an expert witness dealing with legal disputes in the construction field.
More recently he has taken a part time position at the South Bank University as a visiting lecturer teaching structural design to undergraduates, passing on his vast experiences and knowledge to the next generation of aspiring structural engineers.
In association with the Institution of Structural Engineers North Thames Branch, David also lectures candidates wishing to take their Professional Chartership examination.
