Ground conditions dictated the use of piled foundations. Access to the development has been provided by a new road system accessed off the public highway via a new road bridge based on a precast concrete box culvert design.
We were responsible for all Civils and Structural design, including obtaining approval from the Bedford Group of Drainage Boards for the new river crossing. The storm water discharges into the river based on a 1:100 year storm event with climate growth set against green field runoff. The foul water discharges into the local sewer via a pumped system. The new road design required a section 184 agreement on behalf of McCann Homes (MK) Ltd.
